EDITOR’S NOTE
Hello!
Welcome to another issue of SideView Magazine. We have amazing treats for our readers, with an exciting new addition and a give-away prize for one lucky reader. Who is your Movie Icon? Growing up I always loved recreating the looks from all my favourite movies. I remember trying to find leggings to rival those of Olivia Newton John in Grease. Believe it or not as a child I always remember looking forward to going home but not to see my parents or play time but to make myself tea with my mother’s tea set that only came out for special occasions and watch Mary Poppins.
In this issue, we explore emerging actors and actresses and also those who have made the mark in the acting world. On our cover is international model and stylist to the stars Tosh Yanez. Having worked with the most amazing celebrities in Hollywood and the best magazines Tosh has decided to immerse himself in the world of acting. His movie, ‘The House On The Black Lane’ gained rave reviews about his performance. Find out more about Tosh’s plan for the future and what he thinks about African women. Other interviews we have lined up are with Lisa Raye McCoy from the popular sitcom All of Us which is based on the life of Will Smith and her new reality show The Real McCoy. We also sit down with Hakeem Kae-Kazim from X-Men Origins & Hotel Rwanda and Adewale Akinnouye Agbaje of Bourne Identity & Lost. (Page )

I asked the Side View team who their movie icons are and why….
Creative Photographer, Seyi Charles George
My movie icons have to be the women: Jane Fonda as Barbarella in Barbarella, Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley in Alien. If I could shoot any of them it would be Sigourney Weaver, she looks fearless.
Editor at Large, Tinu Adesugba
The Late John Candy, I remember as a child being glued to the TV laughing my head of. His comedic timing was genius!
Contributing Photographer, Jen Salt
My movie icons….
I would have to say Tim Burton as a director, his movies are so recognisable and always strangely beautiful. If you’re after an actor/actress I think Jonny Depp as he consistently astounds me with the roles he plays, he is one of Hollywood’s most handsome actors but he very rarely will play a “conventional” handsome hollywood role. Whether he is doing quirky characters or psychological roles, I always find him mesmerisingly believable.
A movie star I would love to shoot is …
Tilda Swinton. She has such an unusual face, the possibilities for images are endless! I’ve seen some truly stunning imagery of her, she’s obviously quite happy to try something a little bit different other than the usual beautiful pictures most actresses opt for.
